Pregnancy Update

It has been awhile since I’ve written a blog post, but I have been wanting to get back into it. Lately, I’m finding that I love to write , it’s given me such happy feels. So here we go, i wanted to write an update on my pregnancy.

I’m not sure where the time has gone but it is absolutely flying !! I remember being pregnant with my first and it felt like it went so slow. All i could think about was baby and how many days/minutes/seconds until due date ha. This time i barely have time to remember what week pregnant I am. The boys are keeping me so busy and distracted from this pregnancy. We are half way to meeting our baby.

Since finding out I’m pregnant, I’ve been extremely tired and exhausted. This wave of exhaustion was following me around my whole first trimester. I know this is normal but i don’t remember feeling this way with my other pregnancies, thank gosh because it’s a horrible feeling. The exhaustion left once i hit 13 weeks. I was feeling myself again, playing with the boys and going about my normal routine without repeatedly telling my husband how tired I am.

Each pregnancy has been fairly the same, very similar symptoms. I’ve felt tired, mild headaches, frequently peeing, and extreme constipation. Pregnancy isn't always sunshine and butterflies, and I’m here to be honest with you all. I have always had constipation problems each pregnancy but this was by far the worst I’ve experienced. I’ve switched my prenatal vitamins to se if that’s the problem, but nothing seemed to be different. I’m currently taking a stool softener and that’s helping me as of now (thank god)!

I’m taking care of two fierce toddlers that don’t ever sit still, something I didn’t experience during my other two pregnancies. There is minimal time to sit down and relax this pregnancy. I’m being woken up multiple times a night by the both of them. We switched Brody to a big boy bed so he’s going through that transition. Jagger repeatedly throws his stuffed animal “Cado” out of his crib and scream cries until I go give it back to him. Meanwhile the baby is kicking reminding me he/she is here too  just a glimpse into my future

Finally, my SPD is slowly creeping back into my life this pregnancy. For those that don’t know what that is, it’s as sexy as it sounds it stands for Symphysis Pubic Dysfunction. It is extremely painful. I experienced this the worst pregnant with Brody, I’m thinking because he was breech. It causes pain in everyday activities like getting dressed, walking, getting in and out of bed, rolling over in bed, working out and many other daily things. When I had this with Brody there were many days I would be in tears because of how much pain I was in. It was unbearable. I’m no where near the same pain and discomfort, but I’m only half way so I’m feeling anxious.

What causes it?

Your body produces a hormone which makes the ligaments in your joints basically too loose, creating little stability.

My OBGYN recommended physical therapy when I was pregnant with Brody, and gave me a list of remembered exercises to do at home to help strengthen my pubic bone. I’ve started doing some of the exercises already hoping that will help.

Its ok to vent about things going on in your life, holding it in is not healthy.

I’m simply sharing this information with you in case there are others going through something similar and can relate. I’m not looking for sympathy, just want to be raw and open about pregnancy with all of you.

I’m so grateful to be pregnant. I think about our baby all day long and how excited I am to be having another one. Focusing on the positive and looking forward to growing my family.

Winter Maternity Blues

Hey Hey!

Been a while since I've been on here! Hope 2020 is treating everyone well so far. So crazy to say 2020! Big things happening this year :) One being baby birth year, yay. We get to meet our new baby so so soon. It's actually a strange feeling, I want to fast forward time and cannot wait to meet our newest family member, but at the same time I want to freeze time and soak up as much one on one with Brody as I possibly can. He is going to be such a sweet big brother. He is constantly checking in on his "baby." In other words constantly lifting my shirt up, kissing my belly and saying "baby," even if we're out and about. Ha! But getting back to the post, I want to share my most worn maternity outfit this pregnancy. If you haven't caught on I dig on matching sets, specifically lounge/sweat sets. Those are my jam. I haven't invested too much on maternity pieces. I prefer to buy baggy clothes and still be able to wear them post pregnancy too, but this one I couldn't pass on. I've styled this lounge set multiple ways just by switching up my sneaks, wearing just the Tee or leggings, long sleeve under the Tee, etc. Love the acid wash look to it, spices it up than just a plain blue. For some reason majority of over the bump leggings/pants give me horrible pains in my belly, so I'm not too big a fan, but these weren't overly snug so they worked for me. Pumped I found a pair that worked for me and even more pumped it was a matching set. Linking my whole look below. Thanks for following! Enjoy the rest of your week. :)

Newborn Essentials

Hi Loves!

Ahh can’t believe it’s baby time, it could happen any day at this point! This waiting game is no fun though. Making me so anxious. It’s so crazy how fast this pregnancy went, must faster than the first time around. Although it was only a year ago, I feel like I forgot what it’s like to take care of a newborn! Well, not the sleeping part, but everything else. For you soon to be mama’s or mama’s that need a refresher like me, I made a list of my top ten favorite newborn essentials. These are all things I consistently used when Brody was born (In no significant order). I linked everything below!

1.     Levo Beech Wood Baby Bouncer

This is definitely a favorite of mine. It is a little pricey, but so dang cute and totally worth it. Always get questions about where it’s from. Brody loved being in this chair from the moment we took him home. It’s small, lightweight and super comfy. He was seriously always in it and never made a peep. I wish they had a chair like this for adults! Sadly, I just put it away until the new baby comes because I didn’t want him breaking it. Highly recommend!

2.     Baby Swing

When I made my baby registry I was going for the super cute, chic baby items. I probably should have registered for a baby swing. There came a point around 3 months, Brody would only nap in this baby swing. It has different speeds, plays music and has a mobile. Although, in my opinion it’s not the cutest, I definitely found that we used it a lot. Can’t win them all!

3.     Baby wrap

What did moms do when there were no baby wraps?! Seriously, I wrapped Brody up all the time. I’m sure I will use this even way more this time around since my hands will be busy entertaining Brody. Every mom needs a baby wrap. Hands free! I was able to get laundry done, clean the house, make dinner, etc. The boba baby wrap has so many cute patterns, I didn’t see the one I have but I linked a neutral wrap that goes with everything. The ergo baby came in handy when he outgrew the wrap. If you travel a lot, a wrap is a good idea for the plane instead of lugging the stroller all through the airport. It’s a very comfortable and durable wrap. Reasonably priced too!

4.     Boppy Lounger

Can you tell I like little lounge chairs and seats for babies!? I love how this one props their little head up and has an indention for them to lay. We always put this on the couch with him right next to us. It’s just a cozy pillow to have around. Convenient to take places too!

5.     Sound machine

In my opinion sound machines are a must have. I have tried the hatch baby and the marpac original sound machine, which I linked below. The hatch baby is a great option too, I just found that he slept better with strictly white noise. Hatch baby has that sound, but It doesn’t seem to block out the other noises throughout the house like the marpac sound machine. Seriously LOVE this one and so does Brody. He sleeps like an angel.

6.     Humidifier

Oh a humidifier is key with newborns! Their poor little noses can get so stuffed up and I promise there is nothing scarier. Since they don’t learn to breathe through their nose right away it’s scary if they get congested. Brody had a bad cold around 3 months and I was constantly using a booger sucker (which I will link too) and nasal spray (when I felt comfortable enough). I noticed a huge difference with the humidifier. Helped a ton.

7.     Uppababy Vista Stroller & Car seat

Love this stroller. It’s a perfect size, not too big, not too small. Comes with a bassinet that we always used. There were some nights I would have him sleep in the bassinet. Love that the car seat just clips right onto the stroller base. This was all we used until he got too heavy for me to lift the car seat out of the car, and then I used the seat the stroller came with. Easy to fold up and open. There are so many cute colors to choose from too. I linked the travel bag for the stroller & carseat. I didn’t register for these but I think I high recommend if you plan on traveling with these items! Seriously saves them from being damaged and its easy to wheel and carry through the airport.

8.     Fawn Design

Ah I seriously have no cons to this diaper bag! I wanted something that didn’t scream diaper bag and this is definitely it. It’s the perfect size, can be worn as both a backpack or cross body bag. There are so many compartments on the inside to hold bottles, wipes, diapers, formula, aquaphor, snacks, seriously whatever. There’s a zippered compartment on the inside where I keep my wallet & keys. Love that because it separates my things with baby stuff.

9.     Aquaphor

Feel like I’ve mentioned aquaphor very often! Before I became a mom, my mom friends always had aquaphor on them and were constantly using it for everything. Now I’m one of those moms! Just good to have on you at all times. Baby’s crying…give him aquaphor. JUST KIDDING, don’t do that, but I really do find I use it a lot.

10. MERLIN MAGIC SLEEP SUIT

The MERLIN MAGIC SLEEPSUIT is seriously magic. I really don’t know what else to say about it other than that. It was seriously the highlight of my night, he looke ridiculous but so cute! It took a couple nights for Brody to get used to (like anything else) but once he did he finally slept through the nigh. The weening part may not be so fun, but trust me you will do anything for sleep at that moment! Once he started rolling over I switched to a different sleep sack, but you seriously need to try this.

Thanks for following!

Have a lovely day.

Groovy Pants

Hello friends!! I don't know about you guys, but finding maternity pants its not an easy task! Last pregnancy was much different. It was warmer weather so I basically lived pantless and in flowy dresses. Finding it much more challenging this time around being pregnant during the colder days. I would feel bad if I didn't share a good find with all you other pregnant moms out there. These camel high waist bell bottoms from Pink Blush Maternity are the bomb. The material is such good quality, nice and thick for the colder days and snug enough to keep my bump and bum in place! I was going for a fun and relaxed look so I paired them with a flowy sweater and sneakers. They can be styled many different ways which is one of the reasons I love them so much. So if you're searching for a chic pair of maternity pants, you should check them out. My outfit is linked below. Happy Sunday & stay groovy my friends!

Keeping Snuggly

Hey loves. Fall is officially gone and looks like the colder weather is here to stay. We all know this just means a longer winter, which means bring on the coats! You can never have too many. I actually am ready for the colder weather and the cute jackets that come along with it. Although it's going to be a challenge this time around since I'm 6 months pregnant and I'm slowly retiring my coats because I can't zip them all the way up. The struggle is real. Just means time to buy some that will actually fit...not a bad thing!

I am wearing a faux fur coat from Urban Outfitters but looks like its sold out. I found some similar to it and also linked some others that I think you might like.  This coat is almost identical to the one I have, it comes in green too and its on sale. Also love this beige faux fur coat, super similar to the one I have, just has a belt and I love that about it. Super cute with bump too. Sometimes I like to switch it up and wear a little color, and I adore this one sky blue color here so much. Definitely have my eye on it. This cream color teddy coat is probably first on my Christmas list, it looks so cozy I need to have it. Thanks for following and be sure to check out the coats below. Thanks so much for following.

Our Thanksgiving Tablescape

I feel like Thanksgiving just crept up on us this year! I can't believe its days away. I was hoping to share this sooner for inspiration, but time flew past me. Here is our Thanksgiving table this year. I incorporated copper and wood for a warm and cozy vibe for the table this year because Thanksgiving is all about eating in comfort with the ones you love. We have been hosting Thanksgiving for the past couple years now and I love it. Any chance to host a party I am all there. My husband not so much, but he's slowly getting on board. Anyways, here is some Thanksgiving Day table inspo!

I love the warmth that the copper accents give off. I used these copper salt and pepper shakers and  this copper pitcher. Also love these copper cheese knives that I find myself incorporating somehow at every gathering.

Always use this wooden bowl and serving utensils for some sort of salad.

Added this table runner for a little boho theme & love that it can be used throughout the seasons.

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Eat, drink and be thankful!

1. I am all about comfy cute this pregnancy (and always) and these overalls are perfect for your preggo mama friend. They can be dressed up or down.

2. Belly bands are KEY during pregnancy! This would be the perfect gift, I wear them over my jeans so I can still wear my non maternity jeans every once in a while.

3. I live in loungewear and these ones are so cute. I would wear these lounging around the house and even as pajamas. Perfect gift for your pregnant friend because they are most likely tired of the go to black maternity leggings.

4. I didn't think I would want a pregnancy pillow, but when my husband surprised me with one I was so wrong! They are amazing. I have this one and it is so comfy, I will most likely continue sleeping with it once the baby is born too.

5. I love jumpsuits and this one is so cute! Love how it will tie around your bump. Perfect gift for your friend that needs to switch up the pajama wardrobe and get out for a bit!

6. Can't go wrong with a good cardigan. I always love a good cardigan with a belt to tie around your bump to show it off. The neutral cream color will go with anything.

7. Switch it up from the typical black legging! These fun animal print leggings are adorable.

8. I lived in nursing bras towards the end up my pregnancy. I bought these nursing bras and they are seriously so comfortable. Currently wearing one now!

9. Comfy slippers to go with the all the cute loungewear & outfits. Your feet really start to hurt at a point during pregnancy so your friend will love a nice pair of slippers like these. They have so many colors to choose from.

Shop the items below:

1. Your new mama friend will most likely be hibernating for awhile so a good pajama set is always a great go to gift. Especially one that is nursing friendly. The buttons on this one make it breast feeding friendly.

2. You can find the matching pajama pants here

3. How fun is this robe! It looks so soft too. Thinking about ordering it for myself.

4. Nursing bras are most likely a must for your new mama. I'm the type of person to wear a sports bra like this one everyday rather than a nice bra with an underwire. I knew I needed one though. It took me awhile to find one that I actually liked, but this one is currently my favorite. Help a mama out and get her a good bra.

5. Cozy socks! This might be one of my favorite gifts to get. Such an easy get and you know they'll go to good use. A simple pair like these or switch it up with this pretty pattern sock that would be so cute to wear over leggings.

6. Love this comfy but cute lounge jumpsuit. It's nursing friendly too! The top is very stretchy. Cute outfit for newborn/mama doctor visits. Again, less is more! One outfit equals less thinking involved! Ha!

7. Can't go wrong with a Starbucks gift card! Even for your non-coffee drinking friend, like me!

8. I got this lavender lotion as a gift when I just had Brody and I will continue to buy it. It really is calming and soothing and the smell is so good, I use it every night before bed. Gift this to anyone and they will love you!

9. Lancome hydrating face mask because we all know your friend will appreciate anything that helps her look more alive! I've just recently been getting into face masks and this is my go to right now. My skin always looks so smooth after I use it.

10. This lavender bubble bath is an amazing scent and it bubbles so nicely. Great gift to help your new mama relax.

1. Winter Accessories are always a great gift! Somehow these items always go missing or get misplaced so you can never have enough! Love this matching set for a little girl. The cream color hat, scarf and gloves with polka dots are so fun and perfect for any little girl.

2. How cute is this little bear winter hat & scarf?! Totally buying this for Brody. It could really go either way for boys & girls.

3. BASICS BASICS BASICS. Seriously can't have enough basics. It's winter time so Brody is constantly wearing onesies under his clothes to keep him extra warm. Love the cross body oneise & the basic color long sleeve onesies. I also love a simple tank onesie to put under a warm sweater so he isn't too hot.

4. The Wooden Activity Cube has become a favorite of Brody's. This is such a great toy for babies & toddlers! Babies can use it to look at for tummy time and once they are able to sit on their own there are so many different activities to keep them busy. Brody learned how to pull himself up with this. He's really into this toy right now. It's super cute too.

5.Whacky Ball! Brody got this as a gift for his birthday & oh my goodness he loves it so much. So do I! It teaches him colors & hand eye coordination. Keeps him occupied for more than a minute and that's a win in my book!

6. This personalized puzzle is such a unique gift! Anything personalized is always a special gift. I love this idea for family that lives far or even so babies could become familiar with family faces! You can customize colors and how many puzzle piece pictures you want to include. FREE shipping too!

7. Cuddle & Kind Knit Dolls are so adorable. We don't have one yet but it's definitely on my list to get for Brody. They are so cute & go to such a good cause if you purchase one. Each doll purchased is equal to 10 meals that go to children in need. Love that. There are two different sizes to chose from and so many cute dolls to pick from. Love Lucy the Lamb & Scout the Deer.

8. Ah if I had a little girl I would totally be buying this for her. Can't go wrong with the bunny backpack. Adorable!

9. Another favorite gift Brody got for his birthday is this personalized puzzle name stool. You can switch it from a little chair to table. He sits on it like a picnic bench its too cute.

10. We bought these personalized sleeping bags for our nieces and nephews last Christmas and I loved them so much we will probably be buying them again as a gift. They are such a good size & so warm. Perfect for sleepovers at Grandma & Grandpa's house! 😍 So many to chose from.
