Brody's Nursery

I am excited to share with you Brody’s nursery. I linked everything below for you. From the day I found out I was pregnant I instantly started thinking about the baby nursery. Since we kept the gender a surprise I wanted to create a gender-neutral nursery (which was so hard because I was seriously convinced we were having a girl!). I had so many thoughts and ideas running through my head that I seriously had no clue where to start. I was ALL OVER THE PLACE, but once I picked out the wallpaper (which I recommend doing first if you decide to go wallpaper route), decisions became a lot easier. I wanted the wallpaper to really pop so I decorated the rest of the room in a lighter, natural wood tone to create a bright and happy space.

The oversized palm leaf wallpaper makes such a statement in the room; I love it so much. It’s the peel and stick wallpaper I found on Etsy. My husband installed it a little under an hour. The hardest part was getting started and lining up the pattern, but other than that it seemed pretty straightforward.

CRIB. I initially ordered a white crib, but ended up sending it back because it just didn’t fit right. My husband wanted to kill me since he had just put it together and already threw the boxes out. Oops! Most indecisive person award goes to me (I’m working on it!). So yeah, I went with a light natural wood crib that I still obsess over.

The rest of the room was fairly easy to choose. I went with a white dresser, which really brightened the room. I’ve always pictured a nursery with somewhere to lay/lounge with the baby so a daybed was a must. I’m finding that we use it a lot more now that he’s almost 1, than we did when he was just a newborn. To complete the room I added a rug to go over the dark carpet. It’s so fluffy and fun. I went to a couple different stores before I finally found the perfect one!

Everything else I added once the baby was born to make it his own special little space. J My favorite part of the day is walking into his room in the morning, opening the curtains, and kissing his little face!!

Oh! These massive letters were gifted to us and they have finally grown on me! I think it really makes his room unique. They are from restoration hardware, you can them here. Aren't they fun?

Hope you like it and comment if you have any questions!

Happy weekend!

Tomato Basil Flatbread

Hi loves!

With the holidays getting closer I wanted to share the recipe of one of my go to appetizers, a tomato basil flatbread. It’s a quick simple recipe & always a hit every time I make it. If you like tomatoes, cheese & garlic then you will love it! If you don’t then something is wrong with you. Hehe just kidding…maybe.

Here you go:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees so it's ready go. Roll Out pizza crust on the baking stone (spray nonstick). Sprinkle a thin layer of mozzarella cheese over crust. I have only made this recipe on a baking stone, you can try with a pan but I'm not sure how it turn out!

Slice tomatoes

Spread tomatoes on top of mozzarella cheese covering the whole flatbread. Get as close to the edge with the tomatoes as you can.

Mix together the mayonnaise, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, basil leaves, & garlic. Spread over the tomatoes & crust.

Put in oven for 15-20 minutes. I usually go the full 20 so the crust is crunchy! Yum

In the meantime...

Finished product:

Slice into squares or small rectangles & ENJOY!

Ingredients

1 package of pizza crust
2 cups (8ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup parmesan cheese grated
2 tablespoons fresh basil leaves, snipped
2/3 cup mayonnaise
1 garlic clove pressed (I always add a little more)
4 plum tomatoes, sliced thin

Florida Maternity

Hey loves!

I can't believe a year has passed since we went on our babymoon! We went to Sarasota, Florida and it was the perfect little babymoon. I am still in awe over how the maternity photos turned out. Thought I would share some of my favorites with you! Thank you Rachel Valabek for capturing these lovely photos.

Today you are ONE

Today I woke up & my baby was ONE. One year ago today, a month before my due date you decided to make an appearance into the world and it has changed our lives for the better. You made me a mommy and I am forever grateful you chose us to be your parents. My oh my what a year it has been. Felt endless and extremely fast at the same time. There were days and nights that felt endless, but we always managed to get by. Holding & loving you is so effortless. You taught me to let go of the little things. You taught me that innocence is precious. You taught me PATIENCE.  Most importantly you taught me how to love unconditionally

You challenged me a lot in the first few months, but this made me stronger. We spent a few nights in the hospital the first week we brought you home because of jaundice. You had reflux the first 4 months of life, which felt never ending. Here we are today and you are such a happy little dude! Your dance moves are my favorite, you love to clap your hands, drool all day long, scream as loud as you can, bite me (but its okay because you are teething), play the “Im gonna getchu” game, run around with your little piggy and eat until I cut you off. You are such a good eater, you have yet to turn something down. Don’t ever change! I have so much fun dressing you, you are known for your hats! I love that you keep them on.

I remember bringing you home for the first time like it was yesterday. A day I will never forget! The day you made us a mommy and daddy, we will cherish that day forever. Stay you, little one. The world is a better place with you in it. Happy First Birthday my baby!

Brody's First Birthday Party

We had my son’s FIRST birthday party this past weekend! Despite the rainy weather, it turned out to be a great party. It was a Halloween costume party theme & everyone went all out with their costumes, it was so fun! It was a long week of party prep, but always worth it. I love hosting parties! My husband...not so much but he's a trooper and just goes with it! I went a little balloon crazy and was able to capture some pictures of the outside decorations before the monsoon (seriously, did not stop raining ALL day) hit us. Such a BUMMER, but oh well. Here are some pictures from the party!

My homemade balloon arch/garland...took a long time!

Balloon Monster, might be the favorite thing I made!
